What is Musical Achievement?
Musical Achievement is when students perform for a panel of faculty and receive feedback as a capstone to the academic year. This will be similar in nature to an audition, a college jury, or Solo and Ensemble contest, but at an age-appropriate level for each individual student. Each student will perform a review piece and a technical exercise. Musical Achievement Schedule 2026 Students will be assigned a 45-60 minute time slot during which they will perform and observe their fellow students. Harp: Saturday, May 2, 2026 - 9:30-10:00 AM, followed by the Harp Master Class Piano: Sunday, May 3, 2026 - 2:00-6:00 PM Cello: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 - 5:45-7:45 PM Violin: Saturday, May 9, 2026 - 9:00 AM-12:00 PM See assigned times in the linked PDFs to the right when available. How to Prepare Your private teacher will plan with you during your lesson before spring break to decide the items the student will polish and perform at their Musical Achievement time. The selections are items that your student is already working on – a review piece and appropriate technical exercise. |
