Isabel is a Baltimore-based violinist, arts administrator, and senior at the Peabody Institute studying violin performance with Herbert Greenberg. Originally from Flagstaff, Arizona, she began studying the violin under the Suzuki method at age five and falls deeper in love with music each year. Thanks to her familial roots in Portugal, she has seen firsthand music’s ability to surpass language and cultural barriers. She believes music is the ultimate medium of human connection and strives for fluency in the musical tongue.
Throughout her studies, she has fostered a strong passion for collaborative music, including orchestral and chamber playing. She has always been devoted to community outreach and regularly performs at shelters, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and retirement homes in the Baltimore community. At Peabody, she frequently performs new music, which allows her to expand her artistic and collaborative palette. In combination with performing, Isabel harbors a special love for music administration and the many opportunities and responsibilities that come with managing in the artistic field. She intends to spend her life refining her ability to connect with and learn about the world around her through music. |
